What Gives The Most Joy? Ask Me.

That abstract, inexplicable feeling that just makes you sigh and say to yourself.

It was worth it.

All the stressing, the late-night post scheduling, the Whatsapp group monitoring…

Being a writers’ coach, I constantly have to position myself as an expert by pouring out the virtues I’ve learnt and the vices to avoid. It isn’t always easy to do this. To be a teacher to every writer that crosses my path. However, some events are just the motivation I (and every coach out there) need.

Such an event happened in the ‘Build Your Writing Confidence’ Whatsapp group I created (you can join here ) for writers to, well . . . build their confidence.

I had given everyone in the group an assignment to pitch their writing services to friends or brands around them. I knew that this would challenge them and also acquaint them with the concepts of negotiation, client behavior and even rejection.

Then, it happened.

One of the participants messaged me about how he had pitched himself to someone who had been sharing ineffective Whatsapp BCs on an online Food Safety course. I was amazed. And most of all, OVERJOYED.

He had been listening! And that is my joy. Or well, the joy of a Writers’ Coach.
